Going to the Royal was a fun event. The sounds and smells, and the animals and people, and the flow and rhythm, and the colours and impressions, it was all almost overwhelming and seducing to a stranger like me. I could almost not get enough of it, and I’m looking forward to next year. (All photos by me)
Cows
There were people looking at cows there. I’m not sure what they were looking for, but everyone seemed to have a good time. Personally I prefer looking at cattle when outside grassing and seemingly enjoying their time.
Nevertheless, they lined those cows up with ease, impressing judges I’m sure. Winning prices and admiration, to brag about when back at the barn or wherever they ended up afterwards.
Healthy Food
And healthy food, my friends, must not be taken for granted. Do you choose to eat healthy?
We asked small and tall, young or not, brothers and sisters, from here and there, yes the whole lot. They all eat; naturally, mind you healthy in mind but not mindfully always so. Thus, making the right choices is difficult, especially when there is so much else tempting.
What is your favourite HEALTHY food?
and
What would be your FAVOURITE healthy breakfast?

Rare breeds are a favourite of mine. I’ve not been able to comment enough, yet, about how important I feel it is to keep a place for biodiversity in our heart and mind. I was therefore lucky to see rare horses at the Royal. Newfoundland Ponies are charming and nice, running around proud and strong.
A true royal at the Royal was also the black one below, tripping unusually gracious to the added ease of his master. Making the crossing on Columbus’s second voyage, this breed is trained to perform at ease to the maximum in combat and exploration; truly majestic and immensely beautiful.
That my friends was the Royal 2008, to me anyway. Much fun all around.

Nice photo essay, Kent. You captured the breadth of the event quite well and your commentary is entertaining.
